Garage, extension and dormer roofs in EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass or felt, laid with proper falls so water leaves instead of ponding. A short run south through Bilston.

Flat Roofing for Homes in Coseley

Coseley’s flat roofs are the working parts behind the terraces, the back kitchens, outriggers and lean-to additions where generations of felt have been layered over each other, plus the garages and sheds along the back alleys. Most leaks here announce themselves at the junction with the house wall or drip quietly into the back bedroom.

We cover Coseley and the surrounding area: Roseville, Wallbrook, Deepfields, Hurst Hill, Ladymoor and beyond (WV14, DY4).

  • GRP fibreglass with a hard-wearing gel top coat

Flat Roofing in Coseley, FAQs

We could and we will not, stacking felt traps damp between layers and hides the rotten decking underneath. Stripping to the deck costs a little more on the day and is the only version that actually ends the leak, so that is what we quote.

Almost always, Coseley’s back lanes are part of how the town was built and we work from them regularly. If access needs a neighbour’s goodwill we will knock and arrange it properly rather than leave it to you.

Both are excellent when fitted right, so it comes down to the roof. EPDM suits larger, simpler roofs because it goes down in one continuous sheet and copes with a bit of movement. GRP gives a hard, walkable finish and crisp edges, which suits smaller roofs, balconies and roofs with lots of detail. We quote whichever suits yours, or both so you can compare.

Old style felt was ten to fifteen years if you were lucky. A properly fitted EPDM or GRP roof is a different class: the materials themselves are rated for decades. The weak point is always the workmanship at edges and outlets, which is exactly where we take the most care.

Standing water, called ponding, ages any flat roof faster: it strains the membrane, freezes in winter and finds any weak seam. Sometimes the fix is as simple as correcting the falls with firring or a tapered board when the roof is recovered. If your roof ponds, it is worth a look before it starts leaking.
