Roof Repairs & Maintenance in the West Midlands
Leaks found and fixed, tiles and slates replaced, ridges rebedded. Quick, tidy roof repairs that deal with the cause, not just the drip.
Roof Repairs & Maintenance
Most roof problems start small: a slipped tile after a windy night, a cracked ridge, a bit of flashing that has lifted. Left alone, that small gap lets water into the felt, the battens and eventually the ceiling, and a fifty-quid problem turns into a four-figure one. We repair roofs at the stage where it is still a repair.
Finding a leak is the real skill, because water rarely comes through where it shows up inside. We get on the roof, trace where the water is actually getting in, and fix that: replacement tiles or slates matched to your roof, ridge and hip tiles rebedded or fitted to a dry ridge system, torn felt patched, valleys cleared and relined, and lead flashing dressed back in properly around chimneys and abutments.
Because we are bricklayers as well as roofers, repairs that involve the brickwork do not need a second trade. If the flashing has failed because the chimney joint above it is crumbling, we repoint it in the same visit. You get one team, one quote and a roof that is actually watertight, not one that waits for the next storm.

Roof Repairs FAQs
The obvious sign is a damp patch or drip on a ceiling, but earlier clues are stained loft timbers, wet insulation, daylight showing through the roof, or tiles in the garden after wind. If you can see any of those, it is worth getting it looked at before the next heavy rain.
It depends on what has failed and how easy it is to reach. Replacing a couple of slipped tiles is a small job; a relined valley or a rebedded ridge line is bigger. We look first, then give you an exact written price, so you are never guessing.
Nearly always. We source reclaimed and new tiles and slates to match what is on your roof, so the repair blends in rather than sitting there as an obvious patch.
Honest answer: it depends on the felt and the fixings, not the age on paper. Plenty of older roofs take good repairs and run for years. If the roof is at the point where repairs would be throwing good money after bad, we will say so and quote both ways so you can decide.
Yes. After high winds we make the roof safe and watertight first, then sort the proper repair. We can also provide photos and a written description of the damage if you are claiming on insurance.
